That gives you an idea on what to test.<\/p>\n<p>I found his exercise very hands-on and insightful \u2013 exactly what I needed.<\/p>\n<h3>\ud83c\udfaf Goal<\/h3>\n<p>The goal was to let the team prioritize which areas should be covered by automation next. We included <em>product<\/em> because they knew how important each feature was. And we included <em>developers<\/em> because they knew which code areas lacked confidence.<\/p>\n<h3>\ud83e\udd14 Concerns<\/h3>\n<p>As you can see from Sam&#8217;s hand-drawn graph, you can place your post-its freely. I preferred the quadrants view. My intuition said the &#8220;zone&#8221; would be more important than the exact placement.<\/p>\n<h3>\ud83d\ude94 Constraints<\/h3>\n<p>Our product and engineering team was over 40 people, located in different offices and timezones. So we had to adapt Sam&#8217;s co-located exercise to be remote friendly.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Participants would choose from a list of features, <em>instead of writing their own<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Participants would fill a form, <em>instead of moving a post-its on a board<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Provide a scoring framework, <em>instead of debating the location of post-its<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our scoring framework looked like this:<\/p>\n<pre><code>This is an estimate, go with your intuition.
