Residential areas called suburbs are built around cities’ borders. Likewise, industrial areas and offices where pushed even farther and are usually built in the middle of nowhere, since those lands are cheaper. The average family’s quality of life improved substantially (not much in these last years) and each family now owns a house and at least one car.
Everyone lives away from work and everyday there’s an exodus of people from home to work and back again. The total costs of commuting are huge and diverse (e.g. time, energy, quality of life, productivity, sustainability).
At a job interview I was asked to explain if I was an optimistic or a pessimistic person. The title of this post was my answer, let me explain you why.
Turns out people aren’t like magnets; they’re more like puzzle pieces of the same color.
Can a person be too nice? Yes, and you should stop being that person… unless you want to be a saint, but in that case you can’t have a girl.
You know what you’re also being? Fake. And if you’re trying that hard that’s because she doesn’t notice you. Probably you’re attracted to that girl for the wrong reasons. Probably she’s one of those barbie girls that enters the room and makes all boys drool, and you’re just one of those boys. Look at her, enjoy the sight, carry on.
“Leagues” do exist, so play on yours. Don’t search for the perfect girl, look for a girl that fits you, that complements you.
